Bauhaus Master Lecture with Katie Queen & Nicole Lewis, Her Truth to Material: A Women’s Voice in Ceramic Art.
A disquisition tracing the descendants of the Bauhaus pedagogy and its influence on ceramic art and design through the lens of female makers working in North America; specifically Marguerite Wildenhain, Karen Karnes, Frances Senska and Edith Heath. Who are there predecessors? Where are we now?
Los Angeles, California based artists and educators; Katie Queen and Nikki Lewis will be discussing the relevance of the female voice in contemporary ceramic art and design.
